Gil Puyat Avenue, formerly called Senator Buendia Avenue which took its name from the Filipino senator who served between 1951 and 1972, is the major passthrough traversing east-west of Makati and Pasay in western part of Metro Manila. The busy commute starting from the western end at Roxas Boulevard connects the Makati Central Business District to the other areas of the metropolis.
